Mexico Deservedly Dismiss French Team

No contest, even in the first half Mexico had 8 clear chances to score, which would have been secured if not for phenomal interventions from a heroic Hugo Lloris. Their flowing attacking style down the wings and center made the French look to really struggle, and the first half was resultedly very one sided.

Javier Hernandez's goal was not offsides though, despite the efforts of pro-French journalim, a Star-loving Saudi referee who would whistle every time Ribery had a stone in his shoe, and finally the icon of Mexican football, dinosaur Cautemoch Blanco had a penalty....

The penalty came because French coach Domenech insisted on playing Abidal, a left wingback, in central defensive position, and the Barcelona player was responsible for both goals, having stayed behind on the offsides trap, and lunging in the penalty area to commit the penalty kick foul.

Blanco, who's penalty was delayed by the Saudi referee, asked Rafa Marquez in order to relieve stress, "Donde tirar-lo?" where do I shoot it Marquez replied "Baja izquierda" as my lip reading talents proved correct... the rest is history.

Congratulations Mexico! May this be an appropriate welcome to what is a fantastic generation of Mexican footballers, and its time for Mexico to be considered a regular heavyweight in football.

The Saudi Referee had a horrible match favouring the French with yellows and fouls, his second half penalty call saved him a bit, as he actually managed to call 5 dangerous free kicks for France most of which were from Ribery falling over, or when Maloud stepped on Rafa Marquez's foot. He gets a 4.5 rating on a 10 scale.

The man of the match was undoubtedly Giovani dos Santos who linked together the offense in mercurial fashion.

  1. He was offside. But that still makes it a win. I hope Uruguay and Mexico play for a tie in the most despicable manner and out of the most despicable sense of spite for France. The Irish people deserve no less than to watch them be dismantled by a green-garbed team today and be mocked out of the tournament at the third game.

  2. Aye he was at the limit of offsides, judging from Abidal's foot... still if the goal was French it would not have been shown 9000 times. Hope Arizona is feeling the distant trembling of fifty millon Aztec's jumping up and down simultaneously :)
